Psalm 100

WEEK  7                                            Psalms 100

WEDNESDAY  Reflections

Psalm 100 is a psalm that I often preach during Thanksgiving week in the USA. The psalm is a favorite for many a generation. I can't help but wonder if it might not have been read on that first Thanksgiving. Yes, there is much debate on the morality of the settlers coming to the New World, but on that day Native Americans and Settlers celebrated together.

Whatever the past, Thanksgiving and every day is a day to enter the gates of God with thanksgiving.

Psa 100:1-5
(1)  A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
(2)  Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
(3)  Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
(4)  Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
(5)  For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
